About LLM model comparison (price & capabilities)
This page is a side-by-side comparison matrix for two to four LLMs at a time. It uses the same curated pricing and capability flags as AllOneTools' AI Token Counter and LLM Cost Calculator — context limits, published input/output (and cached or thinking) dollars per million tokens, tokenizer family labels from our dataset, and boolean capability tags such as vision, tool use, reasoning, and prompt caching. You can set workload tokens and requests per month to see ranked monthly spend bars, copy CSV or Markdown for documentation, and share the full scenario via URL query parameters. Nothing is uploaded: your selections stay in the browser.
Key Features
- Choose 2–4 models from 30+ entries (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, DeepSeek, Mistral, xAI, Cohere, Alibaba)
- Workload inputs: input/output tokens per request and requests per month → horizontal monthly-cost chart
- Matrix view: context window, max output, $/M input and output, cached-input and thinking rates when present
- Apples-to-apples row: estimated API cost for 1k input + 1k output tokens (no cache)
- Capability grid with checkmarks drawn from the dataset (reasoning, vision, tool use, caching, audio, PDF, etc.)
- Shareable permalink: ?models= plus optional input, output, rpm
- Export CSV and Markdown tables for specs and workload costs
- Cross-links to the AI Token Counter and per-token cost calculator
Use Cases
- Shortlist two vendors before a proof-of-concept using price and context on one screen
- Explain to stakeholders why a cheaper model lacks vision or long context
- Paste a comparison link in a design doc or ticket
- Pair with the token counter after you know token sizes to finalize budget
Pro Tips
- Use `?models=gpt-5,claude-sonnet-4-6,gemini-2-5-pro` (up to four ids) to open a saved lineup.
- The “1k in + 1k out” row is a simple normalization — add caching and thinking in the LLM Cost Calculator for real workloads.
- If a capability shows a dash, our dataset does not flag it for that model — not necessarily that the provider lacks it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do prices come from?
From the site’s `llm-pricing.json`, versioned with the other AI tools. Always confirm against the provider’s live pricing before signing or quoting customers.
Why only four models?
The matrix stays readable on mobile. For full tables, use the cost calculator or download CSV/Markdown from this page.
Are these official benchmark scores?
No. This scaffold compares specs and published API pricing from our dataset, not leaderboard ELO or MMLU numbers. We may add illustrative third-party references later; treat this as a planning grid, not a benchmark suite.
