Why are only 8 colors available?
Discord maps ANSI escape codes to its own fixed color palette. Unlike CSS which supports 16 million colors, Discord only renders the 8 colors defined in the original ANSI/VT100 terminal standard. These are the same 8 colors used in Unix terminals since the 1970s.
Can I color only part of my message in a different color?
This tool currently colors your entire message in one color combination. To use multiple colors in one message, you need to manually chain ANSI segments. A multi-segment color builder is planned for a future update.
